Eligibility Conditions for Appearing to Pass Out the

Diploma in Education Examination

 

2.1 ATTENDANCE AND ELIGIBILITY :

                   The trainees must have put in at least 85% of total attendance. The Head of institution can condone the maximum attendance up to 5% only. If however a candidate is needed for condone of attendance more than 5%, then the case shall be referred by the Head of respective institution to the Director Secondary Education, Haryana Chandigarh / Director SCERT, Haryana, Gurgaon for condone of 10% attendance only in cases of extreme illness/ in exceptional circumstances which is duly certified by the competent authorities. In no case attendance not more than 10% shall be condone. However a trainee whose attendance is less than 75% of total number of attendance shall not be eligible to appear in the examination in any circumstances.

    All those candidates who are short of attendance will have to take readmission in the same institution and they will be allowed to appear for the examination only after attaining the required minimum attendance.

2.2 DURATION OF COURSE :

(a) D.Ed. is a two year Diploma course (professional) therefore as and when D.Ed.-I examinations are over, the institutions are required to start D.Ed.-II classes provisionally in anticipation of declaration of results. Hence every candidate is required to attend classes regularly.

(b) Admission in the D.Ed.-I is provisional it is subject it is subject to the verification of certificates and other testimonials issued by the concerned Boards / Universities Authority etc. The verification shall be carried out by the Head of the Institutions where candidate is admitted. In case it is found fake/bogus the admission shall stand cancelled automatically.

2.3 PASS MARKS :

            A trainee shall have to secure 40% marks in each paper / part of theory / practice teaching/practical work separately and 40% in aggregate of total marks. The trainees securing 60% marks and above will be placed in first division, those securing 50% or above but less than 60% will be placed in 2nd division, those securing 40% or above but less than 50% will be placed in 3rd division.

2.4 GRACE MARKS :

            A total of 5 marks will be kept which may be given in one or more subjects with a view to give maximum benefit to the trainee only to pass the examination and not to earn compartment. Grace marks will not be added to total.

2.8 OTHER ESSENTIAL CONDITIONS :

(i) After passing D.Ed.-I examination, if a candidate does not pass his/her D.Ed.-II examination within two years he/she shall not be eligible for the award of Diploma in Education (D.Ed.) and his/her D.Ed.-I result shall also stand cancelled automatically.

 (ii) During two years of Diploma course, no candidate is allowed to continue his/her studies in any college/institution/university as a regular or private candidate. If a candidate is found indulged in doing such a practice, a disciplinary action to the extent of cancellation of his/her candidature will be taken against him/her.

(iii) If a female candidate is pregnant at the time of admission, she cannot be deprived of her admission on this basis. She shall be allowed provisional admission. After delivery, she shall have to submit her medical certificate from appropriate medical officer so that admission may be regularized. She will have to complete her attendance under rules.
